Feast or famin!

After having an abundance of rain early this year, the last month has been hot and dry, with no relief in sight. It reminds me of the weather we had in Oklahoma when I was a kid.
Potatoes blooming in our raised box.
A volunteer pumpkin in one of the strawberry beds.
Blackberry plant with some early berries.
Green beans on the right and some new Tom Thumb Blackberry plants on the left near th flags. In spite of the drought like conditions the garden is not doing to bad at this point, due to the 700 gallon stock tank I captured rain water from the April showers. X.

  1. Wise move on your part. I've no longer a garden to tend for and have been trying to do some window plants. Doesn't seem to be working out so well. How are you feeling, my friend?

  2. Not to bad, Mary. I have good days and bad days. For the most part I'm OK.
I think about you in the big city at times when I'm in the garden. Perhaps I could single out a few plants and call them 'Mary's Garden'. What's your favorite vegetable to grow? X.

  3. I never knew potato flowers were so pretty! I like your little garden. We are continuing to have plenty of rain this year (for a change), and slightly cooler than normal temps. Local farmers are very, very happy so far. So of course this would be the year that I've had no time to garden! We do have a heavy crop of blueberries, since they require no work from us.

I hope you start to feel much better soon. I wonder how you're doing, but haven't had much time to be in touch. Take care.
